Esther Watchman
FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Esther W. Watchman, 88, will be 10 a.m., Friday, May 27, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. The Very Rev. Gilbert Schneider, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in Fort Defiance Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m., May 27. A rosary will be recited 4 p.m., today, May 26, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament.
Watchman died May 23, 2011, in Fort Defiance. She was born July 17, 1922, in Ganado, into the Coyote Pass-Jemez People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Watchman’s hobbies included quilting, baking, cooking, rug weaving and crocheting.
Survivors include her sons, Leonard Watchman, Daniel Wauneka, both of Window Rock; daughters, Charlotte Watchman-Wilson, Charlene Arviso, both of Fort Defiance; 29 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Watchman was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Watchman; sons, James Watchman, Ernest Watchman, James Wauneka; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charley N. Wauneka.
Pallbearers will be Eldon Watchman, Alan Watchman, Loren Watchman, Blaine Watchman, Manuel Watchman, Kevin Watchman, Ryan Blackgoat, Ron Blackgoat, Ervin Wauneka, Olin Watchman.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Dominic Hall, Fort Defiance, following services.

Fetesha Jones
ROCKY POINT — Funeral services for Fetesha Jones, 18, will be Thursday, May 27.
Jones died Saturday, May 21, 2011, in Rock Point. She was born Jan. 9, 1993.
Jones graduated from Red Mesa High School. She possessed a strong affectionate personality with powerful ethics. She was recently recognized as Athlete of the Week due to her performance & teamwork at Arizona State Track which she attended for the first time. She was quoted by the Navajo Times “I learned that you've got to be dedicated and it takes a lot of work to get that high, to that level”. She was also encouraging, a lively, loving, witty daughter and sister. She was quick to say what was on her mind, happy, and full of zest for the future. She had enlisted with the Department of Defense with the objective to study forensics medicine.
Survivors include her parents, Russell and Felista Jones of Rock Point; siblings, Faye Ramon, Melissa Begay, Eric Gatewood, Silas Exkhardt Alphaeus, Felicia Alpharian, FeGalla Abner; grandparents, Howard Ann Gatewood, Jamis Jones of Oaksprings; great-grandparents, Ken and Rita Nih Sr.
Jones was preceded in death by her grandmother, Evelyn Jones; great-grandparents, Ralph and Alice Jones.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Rock Point Chapter House, following services.
Dorothy Lucero
GALLUP — Funeral services are pending for Dorothy M. Lucero, 70.
Lucero died May 21, 2011, in Albuquerque. She was born April 25, 1941, in Gibson.

TEMPE — Funeral services are pending for Monty Charles Tilden, 45.
Tilden died Sunday, May 22, 2011, in Tempe. He was born June 23, 1965, in Shiprock, into the Black Streak of Forest People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
